Maldives: The Ultimate Island Getaway.
The Maldives is the perfect place for a long weekend getaway with the most beautiful resorts in the world. It’s a favorite destination among family and friends and on our most recent trip we stayed at the St Regis Vommuli Resort.
The Journey to the resort from Dubai took about 4 hours, then we had to take a sea plane to the secluded island which was a 40-minute trip. Mind you, I hate seaplanes but the island was well worth it. I’ve been to the Maldives before but never on an island this beautiful and the resort was also something else!
When we arrived we were greeted by a personal butler who joined us the whole trip and was always on call. The staff was also super inviting and offered us fresh coconut drinks. The service at the resort was top-notch, I would literally text our butler on whatsapp to pick us up from the restaurant with a buggy since our villa was quite far.
We chose the furthest water villa for added privacy and I must say we enjoyed tanning and swimming in our private pool until the sun went down with not a single soul in sight! That was my favorite part about this resort, there was so much privacy!
The hotel was impeccably designed with incredible architecture and powerful curves donning every building in sight drawing its inspiration from the rich marine life in the island. The Iridium spa was one of my favorite buildings and its design was inspired by a lobster. The treatment rooms overlook the ocean and there was a gorgeous pool with a stunning design as well. A visit to the spa is a must for every island getaway, and I was so impressed with the treatments and the design of the spa.
As for our packing recommendations, do not by any means forget your SPF and hair mask. They actually do sell Coola SPF in the boutique at the Iridium spa, just in case you forgot to pack it, so I was pretty happy about that. If you’re like me and you have highlights in your hair, then the chlorine in the pool everyday really made my hair so much drier and brittle than it already was so a hair mask is so necessary! Another cool thing to pack are wireless speakers so you can enjoy loud music outside while tanning.
